education for employment
Education For Employment (EFE) is the leading nonprofit that trains youth and links them to jobs across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). It creates economic opportunities for unemployed youth in the MENA so that they can create a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their communities.
The projects
Every year, EFE launches a project assessing the impact of social and economic changes on vulnerable youth. I had to great pleasure to work with EFE team to launch their latest two projects:
COVID-19 and Youth Employment in Jordan and Palestine – 2022
Youth and Women’s Employment in Algeria – 2021
COVID-19 and Youth Employment in Jordan and Palestine: Impacts, Opportunities, and a Way Forward
Brief – The study documents the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on young people in Jordan and Palestine, with an emphasis on vulnerable youth including young women.
Considerations – Use EFE style guidelines.
Languages – English.
Concept
COVID has changed our lives in unimaginable ways, however, with our fight against this pandemic hope kept us moving forward. Hope – a strong and a powerful concept that was very fitting to work with.
The empty monochromatic cityscape was my starting point. This city has elements of a typical Arab street (domes, rooftop antennas, stray cats, etc). On feels the passing of time by having both a moon and a sun. People are isolated (empty windows in buildings). However, there is a glimpse of hope seen through some of lit windows. As one goes through the pages the city comes to life.
Considerations – Use EFE style guidelines consisting of five colors and two font families.
Languages – English.
